1. Acceptance of Terms
By joining the Solaris Minecraft server network, using this website (playsolaris.net) or its store, or using an Astrofox Account to sign in to Solaris (together, the "Services"), you ("user", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), our Acceptable Use Policy, our Refund Policy and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Services.
Legal Entity
Solaris is operated by Astrofox Studios Ltd ("Astrofox Studios", "we", "us", "our") (Company No. 16129887), registered at Suite Ra01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, England, E17 3NU. Astrofox Studios Ltd is the legal entity you are contracting with when you use Solaris or buy from the Solaris store.
Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft
Solaris is not an official Minecraft product. It is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang AB. You need your own legitimate copy of Minecraft: Java Edition to play, and your use of Minecraft is also governed by the Minecraft End User License Agreement and Microsoft's terms. Purchases in the Solaris store are made with Astrofox Studios, not with Mojang or Microsoft, and Mojang and Microsoft are not responsible for them.
Age
If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to buy anything from the store, and they should read these Terms with you. If you are under 13, a parent or guardian must agree before you create an Astrofox Account.
2. Account Responsibilities
Astrofox Accounts
To buy from the store you need an Astrofox Account. You can sign in with an email and password or with a supported social login (such as Microsoft, Google, Discord or GitHub). Astrofox Accounts is run by Astrofox Studios and is shared with our other services.
Account Security
You are solely responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential, including your password and any linked social login. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account or any other security breach. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account information. You are also responsible for your own Minecraft account; we cannot recover a Minecraft account that you lose access to.
Account Information
You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when you register or check out, and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for entering the correct Minecraft username for delivery. Items delivered to the username you entered (including when buying for a friend) count as delivered.
Content Responsibility
You are responsible for everything you post or create on Solaris, including chat messages, usernames, skins, builds, housing and marketplace listings, and messages in our Discord server. It must follow our Acceptable Use Policy.
3. Prohibited Activities
The full rules are in our Acceptable Use Policy. In short, you must not:
- Break the law using the Services, including fraud, payment fraud or distributing illegal content.
- Cheat or exploit, including hacked clients, unfair modifications, macros, bots, or abusing bugs instead of reporting them.
- Harass or harm other players, our staff or third parties, including threats, hate speech, doxxing or stalking.
- Attack or overload our servers, website or network.
- Trade outside the store: sell, buy or trade Solaris accounts, Stars or items for real money or anything else outside the official store.
- Infringe intellectual property, including copyrighted material or trademarks.
4. Store, Payments and Virtual Items
What we sell
The Solaris store sells digital content only: Stars (our virtual currency), cosmetic items and titles, Early Access to Solaris, membership perks where offered, and bundles such as the Trans Pack fundraiser bundle. Nothing is shipped physically.
Minecraft usage guidelines
We sell in line with Mojang's Minecraft Usage Guidelines. Store purchases are cosmetic or give access, and are not intended to give a gameplay advantage over other players. Stars can only be spent on things inside Solaris.
Stars and virtual items are a licence, not property
When you buy Stars or items, you get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them on Solaris. Stars and virtual items have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for real money, cannot be transferred to another account except through features we provide (such as buying a purchase for a friend), and cannot be sold or traded outside Solaris. We may change, rebalance or retire items and features as Solaris develops. If we close Solaris permanently, we will give you reasonable notice.
Pricing and billing
Prices are shown in the store in your chosen currency and include VAT where applicable. You pay in full at checkout; there are no recurring charges unless a product is clearly sold as a subscription. Payments are handled by our billing system and processed by Stripe, which accepts major cards, PayPal and other methods shown at checkout. We never see or store your full card details.
Coupons, creator codes and promotions
Coupons, creator codes and promotions apply only as stated, cannot be exchanged for cash and do not stack unless we say so. We may withdraw a code that is being abused.
Delivery
Purchases are delivered to the Minecraft account you choose at checkout, normally straight away (the next time that player is online on Solaris). If something hasn't arrived, contact us and we will fix it.
5. Refunds and Cancellation
The full policy is our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary:
- Immediate delivery. All store purchases are digital content delivered immediately. At checkout you give your express consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right to cancel once delivery starts (Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013). Purchases are therefore non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise, for example if the digital content is faulty or not as described.
- The Trans Pack is non-refundable. It is a fundraiser bundle: 50% of the price goes to TransActual CIC (Company No. 12772196).
- Chargebacks and payment disputes. If you open a chargeback or payment dispute (card, PayPal or any other method), everything the purchase granted is removed from the account automatically, and we may permanently ban the account from Solaris services.
- Bans. If your account is suspended or banned for breaking our rules, you are not entitled to a refund for purchases you can no longer use, except where the law requires otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
6. Suspension and Termination
We may warn, mute, kick, suspend or permanently ban any player or account that breaks these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy, as described there. You can stop using Solaris at any time. You can ask us to delete your data as set out in our Privacy Policy; deleting your Astrofox Account permanently removes access to anything you have bought.
7. Service Availability
No uptime guarantee
Solaris is a game in active development. We work hard to keep it online, but we do not guarantee that the servers, website or store will always be available, error-free or unchanged. Games, maps, features and items may change, be reset (for example at the end of a season or Early Access) or be removed.
Maintenance
We will try to announce planned maintenance in advance in our Discord server or in-game. Emergency maintenance may be carried out without notice.
Service Interruptions
We are not liable for interruptions caused by factors outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, attacks on our network, outages at Mojang or Microsoft, or failures in third-party services such as payment providers.
8. Liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Except where the law does not allow it, our total liability to you in connection with the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights.
9. Intellectual Property
Solaris, its name, logos, games, maps, artwork, resource pack, website and code belong to Astrofox Studios or our licensors. Minecraft and related assets belong to Mojang. You may not copy, redistribute or sell our content without our permission. You may make videos, streams and screenshots of Solaris.
10. Modifications to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of significant changes through a notice on our website, in our Discord server or by email. The "last updated" date at the top shows the current version. Continued use of the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. Purchases are governed by the version of the Terms you agreed to at checkout.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or elsewhere in the EU or EEA, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts and you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws where you live.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
13. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Acceptable Use Policy, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Astrofox Studios about the Services and replace any earlier agreements or understandings, whether written or oral.
